Chris spoke on "Struggling for Blessings," reflecting on progressive aspects of religion, despite the struggles--even because of the struggles!

Jan. 29, 2012, 11 a.m. -- Georgia Mountains Unitarian Universalist Church, Daholonega, GA, Chris spoke on "Death as Soul Friend: What Death Can Teach Us about Life." Following the service, from 12:30 to 1:30, Chris led a workshop on an earlier sermon topic: "Our Lives as Sacred Texts," exploring the sacred in our life experiences. A light lunch was served beforehand.

Dec. 10, 2011 -- Read Chris's sermons from Pittsburgh, PA: "I Love to Tell the Story" (Community House Presbyterian Church) and "Seek to Do Good to All" (MCC Pittsburgh).

Nov. 10-13, 2011 -- Kirkridge Retreat & Study Center, Bangor, PA. Chris co-led an ecumenical retreat for gay and bisexual Christian men with Robert V. Taylor and Joseph Palacios on "Gratitude in Three Movements: Forgiveness, Acceptance, and Thanksgiving."

Oct. 23, 2011 - Chris spoke to the adult education class at 9:30 a.m. on "Claim the God in You as a Progressive Christian" and preached on Jesus Was Not a Literalist during 10:45 a.m. worship, followed by a Q/A session over lunch. Jun. 11, 2011 -- "Sex Talk: Sexuality and Spirituality," a 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. workshop led by Chris Glaser on Saturday, June 11 at First MCC in Atlanta. Free, but registration suggested. Straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and more are trying to embrace the gift of sexuality despite religious upbringing. Presentations and conversations. Lunch provided.

Jan. 13-16, 2011 -- (MLK weekend). "Awakening the Spirit, Healing the Wounds: The Redemptive Gay Experience," a retreat for gay and bisexual men. Led by therapist Terry Flynn and author Chris Glaser. Flynn, a former Roman Catholic provincial, is a Toronto psychotherapist focusing on spirituality, identity, and addiction.
